Madinah was the goal of the Prophet Muhammad to perform the Hijrah from Mecca, and gradually transformed into the capital of the Muslim Empire, with the first leader directly by the Prophet Muhammad, followed by Khulafaur Rashidin, Abu Bakr, Umar ibn al-Khattab, Uthman ibn Affan and Ali. This city became the center of Islamic power in the centuries of the Muslim community began to flourish. Medina is home to the three oldest mosques ever built, the Quba Mosque, the Nabawi Mosque.
