About The Artwork

"FLOWERS AND FAIRY TALES" is a slice of musical revelations of composers at the turn of the 19th-20th centuries. An amazing time on the verge of brilliant discoveries and the greatest shocks, disappointment in ideals and a persistent thirst for novelty. Contemporary art is becoming more relevant than ever and at the same time tends away from reality, into the world of fairy tales and dreams. The history of the name forget-me-not comes from a German folk tale. One day a knight and his lady were walking along the river bank and came across beautiful sky-blue flowers. They marveled at the beauty of the flowers, and the knight tried to pick flowers for his beloved. Unfortunately, he was wearing heavy armor, so he fell into the water and was carried away by the river. Before drowning, he threw a bouquet to his beloved and exclaimed: "Don't forget me!" It is believed that the girl wore flowers in her hair until her death. Since then, graceful flowers have become associated with memory and true love.

I was born in the capital of a small Baltic country in a family of artists 51 years ago. I've been drawing since I was a child, as long as I can remember. I was friends with a neighbor boy whose parents were also artists. That's why he and I grew up in a creative environment. Perhaps such an environment (poets, artists, musicians, artists) influenced my development. I drew always and everywhere, and often automatically (unconsciously) . At the age of 17, after graduating from high school, I, as is typical of young people, was a terrible maximalist. It seemed to me that I already know everything and know how to do everything. My parents wanted me to continue my studies at the Art Academy.
