About The Artwork
A documentary about the Voyager Spacecraft initially inspired this painting. The focus in my work is often about the tension between the fragility of man made objects in a vast and uncontrollable universe. I wanted to paint reassuring shapes floating in the unknown and breaking apart at the seams. The colors and the textures, however, brought me to a point of peace and contentment in spite of the tension created.
