About The Artwork

Welcome to the world of "Fragments of Life," a captivating 100 cm by 100 cm mixed media painting on canvas that explores the disconnection and dissonance between humankind and nature. As the artist behind this thought-provoking piece, I invite you to delve into the symbolism and imagery that reveal a narrative of fragmented existence. In "Fragments of Life," human-shaped stencils emerge, embodying the emptiness within humankind's mechanized state. They serve as haunting reminders of our disconnection, as our relationship with nature becomes increasingly distant. A bold orange line slices beneath the human stencils in the rightside, symbolizing the irrelevance we face since the industrial revolution. It represents our diminished agency and influence in shaping the world. Dominant shades of blue, black, white, and orange enrich the composition, evoking longing, disconnection, sterility, and urgency, respectively. "Fragments of Life" urges reflection on the consequences of our disconnection from nature. It invites us to recognize the fractures and dissonance that pervade our existence, pushing us to seek restoration and renewal. Through introspection, we can reclaim our place within the intricate tapestry of life, nurturing empathy and striving for a harmonious coexistence with nature. This artwork encourages us to bridge the gap and cultivate a renewed sense of connection. It reminds us of the interconnectedness of all living things and our responsibility to restore balance. Let "Fragments of Life" inspire us to mend the fragments, embracing our role as custodians of the Earth and fostering a deeper appreciation for the fragile beauty of our shared existence.

Like Charlie Chaplin's 'Modern Times'... An unconditional workforce from the Industrial Revolution to the present. The disconnection between industry and people, the break between people and nature, and the destruction of both by industry. An unquestioned authority and lives revolving around like lab rats. In my works, isolated individuals and a vanishing world dominate. Unfortunately, the world I oppose in my works is also the world I exist in; it reflects my anxieties, my unhappiness, my loneliness and the emptiness I receive in return for unlimited effort. There is a resonance with Spinoza's concept of Conatus, with the discovery of isolated individuals, the disappearance of the world, and the emptiness of constant work. Just as Spinoza suggests that there is an inner existence and striving for well-being in all beings, the disconnection and dehumanization depicted in the work echoes the consequences of a world driven only by industrial forces. The struggle for existence at the individual and collective level is integrated in the web of social structures and power dynamics. My work highlights the need to reflect on the impact of this disconnection on the human psyche and to regain and nurture a fundamental drive for connection, well-being, and harmony with nature.
