About The Artwork

"Free Like an Eagle" is a strong and happy bright orange and blue gray original painting on on high quality German Hahnemuehle 330gsm artist paper, ready for framing. I love to show beauty and hope while exploring the positive feelings I have for our future. Sometimes, when we truly trust our intuition, we can feel this joy and hope for the future. In theses times it felt strange to me, this feeling full of love, trust and hope. Thus I had to explore it further through meditation. Let's welcome the eagle as a symbol for strength and trust in the future. Keep the faith, better times will come, trust your intuition. The unique painting is part of my deconstruction artworks of polytonal paintings and could be considered as a study for my polytonal artworks. I started with this unique concept during my time in Japan, Tokyo, Yokohama and later continued my research in New York City, Boston and San Francisco. All my original paintings are fully signed on the back. (If you wish an additional signature on the front, this is gladly possible on request, please provide a note when ordering). A certificate of authenticity is attached to each work and includes a list of used material. Painting in interior setting pictures might not be perfectly to scale. Frame not included. Thanks you deeply for your interest in my art! Sincerely, Jacob About the artist JVS Jacob von Sternberg: Jacob von Sternberg’s artworks are bought by collectors and art investors worldwide. You are invited to reach out to the artist for any questions or to discuss your project. -> anutu-studio@protonmail.com Von Sternberg’s paintings appear as dreamlike images in which fiction and reality meet, well-known tropes merge, meanings shift, past and present fuse. Time and memory always play a key role. By emphasising aesthetics, he seduces the viewer into a world of ongoing equilibrium and the interval that articulates the stream of daily events. Moments are depicted that only exist to punctuate the human drama in order to clarify our existence and to find poetic meaning in everyday life. By exploring the concept of landscape in a nostalgic way, he investigates the dynamics of landscape, including the manipulation of its effects and the limits of spectacle based on our assumptions of what landscape means to us. Rather than presenting a factual reality, an illusion is fabricated to conjure the realms of our imagination. His works establish a link between the landscape’s reality and that imagined by its conceiver. These works focus on concrete questions that determine our existence. By applying a poetic and often metaphorical language, he creates intense personal moments created by means of rules and omissions, acceptance and refusal, luring the viewer round and round in circles. His works sometimes radiate a cold and latent violence. At times, disconcerting beauty emerges. The inherent visual seductiveness, along with the conciseness of the exhibitions, further complicates the reception of their manifold layers of meaning. © 2021 JVS Original Artwork - All rights reserved.

(Los Angeles, New York City, Long Island, Florida, Washington D.C., Chicago, Seattle, Salt Lake City, Ohio, and Cincinnati) "In my life there were very challenging experiences that have shaped my view of life itself. What remains is the love and kindness in my heart, which I cherish like a treasure. Whatever happens in life, the beat of our hearts decides the path. The essence of unity is reflected in my art. I travelled the world in search of my family and eventually achieved the healing of generations through my relentless search and longing to reunite my family on two continents. By nature I am actually rather shy and very sensitive. I love to support others. Love to speak about unity, about love, and all the wonders I witnessed on my journey around the world. I am grateful you are interested in my work. Art is my life. My work features small, medium, large and also extra large scale paintings on a very wide variety of surfaces. I use canvas, paper, wood, and several nonconventional surfaces such as time worn wood, vintage papers, and antique textiles, and metal findings that I have collected over the years during my travels. I often paint with tools that I have developed myself or use unconventional ones. At times I refuse to use brushes and painter's knives and use only things from everyday life in an adapted form to create my art. My sculptural works feature beach wood, textile surfaces in combination with colored resin, and a selection of antique findings.
