About The Artwork
Frida has always been an inspiration to women and people of color who love art. Since I’m all three, I feel a connection with Frida, so I decided to paint her. Her paintings and her words were something that inspired me to paint the beautiful woman. I want the people to feel spiritual and alive when they seen my cords painting. I want them to think back at her and to see the beauty of Frida. I chose the medium and style because it’s creative and fun to do. Colors bright up the word which is why I like pop art so much. That’s why I chose that specific medium and style. Hanging hardware is not included! My materials are pencils and acrylic paints that I acquired over the years and they’ve been excellent to work with.

I am a 18 year old self taught artist from a small town in Texas. I’ve been making art since I was 5 years old. I always doodled and draw throughout my life but never thought of it as a career until my freshman year of high school. Pressured of being something that I don’t want to be took a toll on my art, I almost quit to study to be a nurse, but I knew art was my passion and my future and finally I’m making it happen. I’ve won many awards for my art throughout the years. I’ve won five years in a row for the Houston art rodeo 1st to 3rd place. I’ve done art class for years throughout my middle and high school years. I’m also still in the process of putting my art out to the world. My main hope for others who see my art, is for them to relate and understand my art. To see that you can turn pain into beauty.
