Fruits of the Spirit Painting

"Fruits of the Spirit" On a personal note: "One of my favorite verses of the Bible is Galatians 5:23- 24, which says: "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things, there is no law. " When I reflect on this verse, I absorb and meditate on each word, one by one. I think about what love is, what it looks like to me, and how I can love the world fully. I do this often with each word in this verse and pray that my life, as humble as it is, can be an example of what these words represent. It is my constant prayer to become filled with each fruit. When painting the Seedlings Collection, I knew I wanted one piece in the series to visually describe a bare branch beginning to show signs of fruit. There are also details in this piece that represents life and years lived without evidence of fruit; for example, the dashes on the right side of the work represent years of life that were a blur. There is also tape hidden in this piece to represent the fragile elements of life. The work also contains embedded words as well as scraps of my personal prayer journal." — Gracein
