About The Artwork

The series is inspired by the aggressive exploitation of the world by man. The ruthless greed combined with the aggression and violence of the methods used is disastrous in effects. The threads of exploitation and abuses run through the soil cultivation processes. An image of a killer whale becomes a pretext for the presentation of the ubiquitous crime that has been taking place for centuries, step by step with the footsteps of humanity ... The constantly running machines keep the illusions alive and the weapons of access to man's awareness of the nearness of extermination. Faking work hides the absence of the gathered people yields, ubiquitous sterilization.

Anna Rutkowska b. 1996 in Warsaw, graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in 2020, winning the Coming Out award for the Best Diploma (under the supervision of Prof. Jarosław Modzelewski). Finalist of the Hestia Artistic Journey competition in 2020. Painter, performer, creator of installations. The artist is looking for new materials for her paintings. At first glance, the abstract forms are surprisingly consistent in their subject matter - "not everything is connected to everything, but everything is connected to something," says Donna Haraway. Spermaceti, the semi-liquid substance found in the sperm whale's head, was used to make candles and creams and lubricant for industrial and agricultural machinery, which in turn resemble torture tools and erotic toys. The artist's body tells about tenderness and violence towards many other bodies. On a micro scale, the artist closely examines the elements of reality and looks for a place for women's bodies in it, and examines the power relations in reality.
