Ga Shi Do Anon comes from the Lotus Sutra and is a metaphor for Buddhahood. Even when the world is consumed by a great fire, this land is safe and unharmed. The passage to Buddhahood is through the cliffs depicted in the painting. The painting is on a wooden stretcher and is ready to be hung.

My art education began as a child accompanying my father on weekly sketching trips around beautiful 'colonial' Savannah and neighboring fishing villages. Seeking new vehicles for personal expression, I learned to weave, and moved to England and set up a studio. During my stay abroad, I exhibited my work and executed commissions for tapestries and rugs. I was flooded by images which took a long time to execute by weaving, and began to paint with water colors. Upon returning to the United States I decided to pursue an education in painting. Abstract Expressionism was a major influence on the work I produced during this time. The sense of infinite space, luminous sensuous color, and allusions to landscape allowed for the expression of my Buddhist beliefs. “Color is a thread that runs through all of my work.” This applies also to the series of Abstract Landscapes and even portraits that I have painted over time.
