I made the background for this piece right outside of Zion National Park on a plein air painting trip with a group of other artists. The weather that day was perfect... huge clouds were floating by with the sun warming us up from the chilly desert morning. I wasn't sure what to do with the piece once I thought I had finished it, but then I knew it needed a Space Cowgirl... Gamma's her name, shooting mutant cougars with her ray gun is her game. Of course, Gamma is exploring Zion in the year 2297. The mountains pretty much look the same, despite the radioactive water running through them. Framed watercolor and colored pencil with tracing paper on Winsor & Newton watercolor paper, 12x16 (18x23 framed)
