This is a semi abstract depiction of the Indian elephant God, Ganesha or Ganpati. Ganpati, a Sanskrit word, means Lord of the People which explains the popularity of Ganesha in Indian Culture. Every occasion, every important and auspicious task is undertaken only after his worship. Any image of Ganesha in your home brings positive vibes and good fortune for He is the destroyer of obstacles and fulfils all dreams! The Lotus is his favourite flower and he carries it in his arms. According to Indian mythology, Ganesha once got into a fight with the great sage Parshuram to defend his (Ganesha's) mother's honour. Though he fought valiantly, in the fierce struggle, lost one of his tusks. Hence, he is also called Ékdanta' meaning the one with One Tusk.
