About The Artwork
One of a series of garden paintings showing the power of nature and the unstoppable way that plants grow and flower. I love to try and capture the patterns and colours found in close planted borders, as inspired by gardens such as Great Dixter, Sissinghurst and Beth Ditto's Garden, all in southern England. Acrylic on canvas is the perfect medium to capture the fleeting moments of light on flowers that can bloom and be gone all too quickly. It has the strength of colour I need coupled with fast drying times, so the process is not held up waiting for paint to set.
