In this painting, Yoti evokes shared steps into a new life, with a clear allusion to the Garden of Eden. Contact us.I am a visual artist engaged with migration, belonging, an identity shaped by continuous transformation, and the possibility of regrowth while preserving an inner core.
Driven by an ideological commitment to sustainability, I created ReLiving, a practice through which I combine two forms of sustainability, physical and conceptual. On a physical level, I use abandoned artworks as a substrate. On a conceptual level, I draw inspiration from elements of the original works, giving them renewed life, meaning and visual language.
Working in acrylic and ink, I create a layered visual language, identity upon identity. My works are characterized by black contours that balance foreignness and belonging, mosaic-like textures that express the fragmentation of identity, and swirling forms that emphasize emotional turbulence during periods of disruption.
My practice is rooted in cross-cultural experience from the places I have lived and created, Copenhagen, Seattle, New York, Tel Aviv, and Haifa. These places appear in my work as a fragmented, charged emotional landscape that seeks belonging.
Within this process, my bodies of work map through four stages. Storm - periods of disruption and instability. Fragility and Resilience - the space where fragmentation becomes a source of strength. Belonging - the search for an emotional home in the world. Bloom - the moment when growth becomes possible in a new place. Each stage forms an additional layer of color, movement, and memory.
My background in leading communications and organizational communities for global companies drives my approach to art as a space for connection, storytelling, and shared resilience. My artistic practice serves as a broader investigation and statement about the infinite possibilities of change and self-construction, both as individuals and as a community.
