This painting is 1 of 3. They can be displayed together or as individuals. "All that is visible must grow beyond itself, and extend into the realm of the invisible." The act of passing into a place where you can no longer be seen by the viewer highlights the act surrendering to nature that is required- even when talking about things other than death. A person can chose to disappear, to 'ghost', to sink below the social surfaces till they leave only a tiny ripple. These 'others', the 'silent majority' who you can't see, the suits behind the leader pulling all the strings, the 80percent of our universe that is unseen dark matter, the departed loved ones; they've all grown to where they are now, and were once with us. Now out of sight. Where we are or who we are to them, we don't know. They might hate us or they might love us. When there is no inclusion of the unseen, the un-accountable, our visible world has gaps and awkward spaces that do not make sense or scan comfortably, like trying to navigate with a map that does not show hills or rivers or Forrests. An antidote to this would be surrender to what ignorance we know to have, which can be liberating, and with it comes a sense of relief. A sense of security and home in allowing them to be truly them and us to be us, whatever we are, where ever we are. It's alright to say 'I don't know' This has been painted with a champagne cork.
