About The Artwork

One evening, I was in desperate need of something to paint on. This piece was originally created by a New Orleans, French Quarter artist, Manuel Something, called "Get out of These Blues". Bought for $1,200 back in '98, it was trying to escape the darkness of my basement, so I reimagined it. This piece changed six times, ultimately existing as it is perceived now. This was politically motivated by Ms. Pac Man while channelling Rage Against the Machine and reading the book, "Deliverance", pictured stage left of the painting. Influenced by original poem, titled "Should Eyes". Should Eyes Stares from the albatross surround me, like a helpless fish in a sea of what if's, their soulless, solemn Should Eyes glare into my dreaded abyss. Curtains are drawn and doors are locked, but Should Eyes creep through cracks the way air and ants get in. My spine sweats subtle weight sending shivers down dampened vertebrae, while anxiously awaiting another day. WHAT IF I SHOULD?
