About The Artwork
Ed Plank was a Hall of Fame pitcher who spent most of his career with the Philadelphia Athletics (1901 through 1914). He also player for the St. Louis Terriers in 1915 and the St. Louis Browns in 1916 and 1917. I was inspired to create this image by my husband who is crazy about the old days of baseball. It was painted using Corel Painter and my Wacom tablet.

I was born and raised in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas area and currently reside just north of Dallas. Although I have always been interested in art and have dabbled in painting and drawing in the past, I became a full time artist upon retirement from a commercial real estate finance career. Thus far, I have focused on sports images, created in conjunction with a family-run sports collectible business. However, I will also be sharing digital paintings of beautiful sights from travels throughout the world. My preferred medium is digital painting, as I enjoy being able to quickly change from airbrush to watercolor to oil techniques and generally incorporate photography into my work.
