About The Artwork
this portrait is part of an exhibition about female singers and their music within the domestic realm. Utilising discarded mid century plates and saucers and resurfacing these domestic objects to celebrate the changing imagery and identity of women. This portrait celebrates the unique sound and image of the German born singer / song writer Nico who worked alongside Lou Reed, Andy Warhole and John Cale. A lesser known artist who bought dark expressionism and fragmented sounds into the domestic realm.
