About The Artwork

Globos 26 is part of my Globos series. Globos, or globes focus on the shape of the circle. There is no perfect circle. There are many circular shapes that show up in life. When we begin to look around our surroundings, we begin to see just how many circles are present in life. Globos 26 is a continuing exploration of the circular shapes in life and the colors red and blue on wood. The simplicity of this painting illustrates a pattern of globes, 26 globos. Some who view this piece see simple geometric shapes. Some see faceless shapes in a crowd. I like that each person can see something different in the shapes and colors. It allows the viewer to become co-creator with the artist. This painting felt good to me in that I allowed myself to explore the organic qualities of the shapes and the colors without enforcing perfection with any of it. I went with where the painting wanted me to go, which is a pretty soft way to say that I followed what felt good. What ensued was an image full of sultry color and shape, an image full of heart.
