This painting is about my decision to stop coloring my hair at 51. Using abstract floral forms, I tell the story of becoming gray and accepting the idea of being instantly old. Instead of becoming invisible I find that I am free.

Before returning to painting full-time in 2001 Maryann worked as an Art Director and graphic designer. She holds a BFA from Alfred University and is a signature member of the Pastel Society of New Jersey. She lives and works in Rockaway Township, New Jersey.
