Costa Rica
A Costa Rican artist now based at its Capital San Jose . Started studies at UNA {Universidad Nacional} persuing a degree in Veterinary for almost two years but curiosity made him change gears and enter in the world of images to study graphic design and advertising at Artes Plasticas College and Veritas College at UACA University. As much as he tried and was very successful in the field for 20 something years, still the cosmogonic call was much stronger so in parallel he decided to search for some easy answers: "where do we come from?" Fernando Goldoni is an explorer of worlds, both internal and external. he paints his way through a spiritual quest. His work begins with questions about God (the Gods?), since 1990's started a trend of painting upon recycled materials with humans as Angels acting as tools in behalf of the Great Providence, the cosmos...some call it hallucinations but he believes in a natural knowledge that happens with understanding and "talking" with nature, something that is only acquired by experiencing it as a child, and still with the "Why's" of an untiring kid persist in pursuit playing at first with his primitive religious paintings evolving into figurative, oniric, decomposing into abstract and emerging from within, perhaps with an answer. Fernando measures the distance between a spider and a star, between his freedom and the circumference of the earth, between a cup of coffee and each ones own truth, between the eyes of an angel and a beggars rest... again and again he looks at his notes until they make sense (and sometimes, this can take years), then he keeps them inside the colors, without time or space ... and asks a stranger: what do you see? inviting them to walk along his canvas-map and spatula-compass trace. www.fernandogoldoni.com http://www.behance.net/gallery/Fernando-Goldoni/6138871 Facebook: Arte Goldoni
