About The Artwork

Capturing the spirit of the open road, this large-scale watercolor portrays a vintage Oldtimer cruising the iconic Route 66. Bathed in vibrant yellows and turquoise, the chromatic details shine against strong contrasts. A nostalgic snapshot from a USA journey, blending artistic flair with a touch of vintage allure.

Colorful light painting or large-format charcoal works in black and white contrast, motifs from untouched nature or the automotive industry – my motto: "Diversity and Inclusion": I enjoy taking advantage of the variety of possibilities that are given in the creative process, both in terms of motif and technique, in order to interpret my environment in the best way possible. The beginning: The start of my art career began in 1994 at the young age of 13. At that time, I began to deal intensively with the subject of oil painting in an autodidactic way. I opened my first solo exhibition in 1996 in my hometown Bad Dürkheim. At that time, the focus was on nude paintings, which attracted attention even nationally. The development: More solo and group exhibitions followed in the years after. Over time, the focus of my motifs changed several times: after nude paintings, a longer phase of modern still life, abstract works and landscape paintings followed. It has always been important to me to constantly develop myself, to try out new things, to work on different topics and techniques. The technique of choice for a long time was and still is oil on canvas - while at the same time the use of strong colors is a recurring theme throughout my entire work. In contrast to this are large-format charcoal works that reduce the viewer's gaze to the essentials of a character. What it is about: On the one hand, the subject matter of my work often touches on the beauty of simple things, the untouched nature that is also inspired by many international travels. On the other hand, there are motifs that appear only in so-called "moments": moments that show the beauty of a motif, the composition of a work for a brief moment, that invites the viewer to linger before the "grey" of everyday life makes them disappear again! Summarized in view words: Positive, optimistic, fresh - a reality condensed with colors!
