About The Artwork

Decades of nation-building in the Middle East come to an end almost exactly twenty years after 9/11, as a superpower withdraws its troops and concedes defeat. This piece honours the idealistic roots of the US and its 20th-century status as a global superpower - both of which seem to be fading. Part of the Nationbuilding collection. Nation-building is constructing or structuring a national identity using the power of the state. The Nationbuilding collection focuses on the evolving concept and state of nations and the influence of politics on the development of both developed and developing countries, regions and nations globally. With several layers of oil and acrylic paint, this artwork has developed a thick texture that provides additional depth. The artwork is shipped frameless and I recommend wall installation either without a frame or a black minimalist canvas frame.
