About The Artwork

During the revolution, the cathedral was used as a grain storage warehouse. There is cruel irony here in the symbol of the Eucharist being a wafer of grain. Additionally, the painting has a propulsive use of sacred geometry amongst its other references to the Western tradition. This painting by Dave Alber was part of the exhibition and art book Ravages of Time and Permanence of Wonder.
