About The Artwork

Behind my house is a body of water called Hopper Pond (named for Edward Hopper). Every year in the late summer hundreds of great egrets land on the water and trees that surround the pond. It is a majestic sight.

Born in 1965, Jeffrey Dale Starr has been compelled to draw since the age of 4. Classically trained, Jeffrey worked in various media over the years, at last settling on oil painting at the turn of the millenium. His work can be found in private and public collections all over the world. Along with painting and poetry, Starr is addicted to travel (Tokyo and Paris being two favorite destinations). He is working hard to gain fluency in Japanese and has a goal of learning 10,000 kanji. He currently resides on Cape Cod in the seaside village of West Barnstable with his beloved wife Starrina and their beloved cats Yuuki and D'Artagnan.
