Green gold is the name used for the CAUCHO (resin rubber) extracted from the trees in the Amazon jungle of Perú in the 19th century. This material brought with it the colonialisation of English firms and the total exploitation of the resin rubber trade. This exploitation was not limited just to the material, but included the enslavement of entire native populations, including children, in those regions where the rubber was found.
