Grey Green Day Painting

Tankerton Bay on the North Kent coast of Britain is a calm stretch of shingle beach at the mouth of the Thames estuary. Waves are rare, the flat expanse of stones and surrounding landscape provides migratory birds with a place to rest. On stormy days the weather approaches from the opposite coast of Essex, wide skies and dark clouds filling the vista, sending day-trippers scurrying for shelter. Grey Green Day is painted on wooden board, mounted within a white wooden box frame. There is a shadow gap of 3mm between the painting and the inside edge of the frame. The frame is 1.2cm wide. The dimensions of the artwork including the frame (it is permanently fixed) are 18.4cmW x 14.8cmH x 1.8cmD. Fixings included: Mirror fixings, D ring fixings, screws, picture wire.
