Gulf Life Painting

What inspired me to create this painting is living on the Gulf of Mexico. All these animals found within this painting can be found residing within the gulf itself. It can be hard to tell without actually seeing it, but there is a lot of detail put into this painting. I wanted to challenge myself to do as much detail as I could. What I hope viewers think about is all the life that lives where we can't see. The world is so much bigger than we realize because we tend to only think what is above the surface. I hope the viewers think about the conservation and preservation of the natural habitat of these creatures. Even though we don't regularly see them, our imprint on this world impacts their lives as well. For this painting, I used acrylic as the medium and through a decent portion of the creation of this painting a very fine detail brush was used to create all the little details and features.
