About The Artwork

In this mesmerizing oil painting, the artist captures the serene beauty of a tranquil bay where several yachts rest at anchor, their reflections shimmering in the calm waters. Executed with bold strokes and the skilled use of a palette knife, the work embraces the tactile qualities of oil paint, creating a vivid and textured seascape. The reflections of the yachts on the water's surface add depth and dimension to the scene, evoking a sense of calm and serenity. The use of the palette knife is evident in the bold impasto technique employed by the artist. It adds texture and visual interest to the painting, creating a tactile quality that invites viewers to trace the strokes with their eyes and fingers. The surface of the canvas comes alive with a palpable sense of movement and energy. The painting transports viewers to a realm of maritime serenity, inviting them to bask in the tranquil beauty of the harbor. The yachts at rest become symbols of respite and relaxation, encouraging us to take a moment to appreciate the quietude of the sea and the timeless allure of the sailing lifestyle.

Self-knowledge is what my art gives me. I've learned to enjoy the process, that's what I like most about watercolor. I work mainly in the wet technique, because that's how watercolor shows its maximum potential. The result is always unpredictable, because the watercolor does half of the work and I like that bit of uncertainty that I can't change. I complete the painting and the painting completes me. The granularity of the pigments, the undertones, the airiness - that's why I love watercolor. I really like to experiment and paint not only with traditional watercolor tools such as brushes, but also with bags, napkins, sponges, etc. I like to paint on large formats as I feel more free to do so. The main idea of my art is to give people an opportunity to understand themselves and their attitude by looking at familiar things, to discover simple things anew. I draw on free subject matter, it's more important for me to feel what I want to depict, whether it's an apple or a street in Italy. I'm interested in exploring color combinations and their effect on people in my work. I try to capture the essence of what is being portrayed without being too detailed, leaving the viewer free to imagine. I'm inspired by the space around me, the way nature and man live together.
