Heart Attack Painting

I have already confessed that I am such a big fan of Scarlxrd and a few times I have even incorporate some of his lyrics to my artworks. He use to show some expressions and faces from himself that matches with my paintings expressions. He represents a part of the vibes that I wanna show on my artworks. And his aesthetic is a sort of guidance to keep in mind the gothic and cyberpunk vibes that I don’t want to forget on my paintings. On this collection, just by accident (I really had not a previous plan for the background) I ended up using a radial gradient for the background. That makes a ver nice contrast between the backside of the figure (which is very bright) and the edges of the painting (very dark tones). The bright light that surround the figure create the perfect contrast with the shadows of the body. On previous collection I was using three or four layers of lights as in some previous collections where theme is a portrait. But after this one I started to use from 6 leves till 8 levels of light, which gives you a more realistic appearance rising up the value of the mimesis. It was the first one after a long process, where I convince myself that the colour that fits for the shadows on my paintings is “Quinacridone Violet”. It’s perfect dark value to get deep shadows, or at least that was what I think now. It’s the perfect tone to mix with my skin tones to make them darker. That gives me a better situation to construct the painting (mimesis). I wasn’t still happy on that point when I was painting this collection. But my painting process it hasn’t the main goal to just mimic some subject or matter.
