‘I love distorting realism with unusual colour combinations. Hinting at familiarity but leaving scope for imagination.’ Helga Renders was born in 1968 in Beerse, Belgium. She lives and works in Herentals. As a Self-taught painter she brings a fragile sensitivity and melancholy in her realistic work. Her art is expressive, combined with an inner strength. She expresses herself using colours and light to create an other dimension of reality. Prize winner of the big Atelier competition, Alkmaar, The Netherlands November/December 2018 First prize July/August 2018 Nominated Honorable Mention Award in the “4th Water” art competition, Teravarna Art Gallery 2023
