About The Artwork

In the summer of 2018, I spent two months exploring the Adirondacks, living deep in the forest near a lake. Living under the shed, there was a chipmunk who bounced around in the mornings looking for nuts, bugs, and spiders to collect and eat. Some mornings, he would hop up on the window sill while we enjoyed breakfast, and munch on the raisin that magically appeared there.. no idea how they got there.... This little watercolor, mixed media painting is a portrait of that chipmunk, but perhaps it reminds you of the friends in your backyard. No matter what they do, you can't deny, they are quite cute. This painting is 5 inches tall by 7 inches wide, created on wood panel. It is a one of kind, original work of art. Colors vary from screen to screen, and the dominant colors in this work are pink, green and shades of black and yellow ochre.

Stephanie Peters is a mixed media artist creating bold, colorful works of art in pastels, charcoal, acrylic, graphite, watercolor, oil and mixed media. Her style ranges from vibrant abstracts to soft portraits of wildlife. Her work is inspired by her first hand encounters with wildlife and/or her interest in weather and scientific discoveries. By traveling to her subjects, Stephanie works from life or uses her own photographs as reference - this sometimes gets her in the most unusual places that make for great stories beyond the canvas, especially when she's moved by the destructive forces of nature like volcanoes and storms! Stephanie works out of her studio based in Phoenix, Arizona. She has participated in national exhibitions and her work has been featured in various publications. "My art tells a story to inspire and awaken the imagination and creativity inside each of us. It may be abstract filled with energy, or a portrait of a bunny, quiet and reserved. Each piece is how I see and interpret the beautiful world we live in. With my work, I hope to inspire others to fall back in love with nature"
