Painting: Oil on Canvas, Cardboard.
In this new series of works I have been submerged in the routine of painting every day regardless of internal as well as external distractions. It’s through the continuity of painting hours a day that these new works came to be. There is much concern about the process of painting and the importance of making focus in the “how” instead of the “what”. By being into the action of the process itself the artist can clear his mind from external distractions and allow the painting to come without interruption. These paintings are a clear result of being involved with the process of painting and allowing images and composition to make their way through the many other external stimulations that we artist find ourselves dealing with inside the studio. Lately I’m interested in the routine of the artists, the processes vs. the results, the external factors and the issues that we bring ourselves into the work.
