Pacific Coast Highway runs the length of California from North to south along the Pacific Ocean.

At one point in Humboldt County, it makes a dog-leg turn and heads west (as compared to the general north/south direction) for about a half-mile.

I was driving west along this stretch of the road just before sunset one early evening, facing the horizon over the Pacific and when I arrived home I got to work on this attempt to capture the radiant colors of the sunset.
