Hiking in Sarek Painting

A small group of people walking among the mountains and glaciers in Sarek National Park, the last wilderness i Europe. There is no accommodations, no huts, no marked tracks to follow, it's just you and nature. It was in the end of July, the snow rapidly melted late this summer just before we arrived and we were a small group of five. The grass was green and fresh, the grey mountain slopes still with some snow left and the grey clouds astonishing. I knew it was probably my last visit in the park, it´s not easy to hike there (and forbidden to bring dogs). I wanted to remember the place just like that, unfortunately climate is changing rapidly. Afterwards back in the studio I used one of my photos to remember the scene and to be able to paint it. Painting with acrylic is new to me, it is so fun and I continue to learn. To hike, camp and skiing in nature is one of my passions. How we humans interact with nature is also interesting me.
