Born on November 28th, 1982. in Zagreb, Croatia. Lives and works in Zagreb, Croatia. My figurative paintings are based on chosen frames from the movies, which are charged with emotions and stand out as particularly recognizable. What characterizes my figurative paintings, and what makes them specific, comes from the way I blend colors and apply them on canvas to create dynamics and stimulate viewers memory in hope of reawakening the emotions that permeated them at the time of watching the movie. My ultimate goal is to intertwine my works with viewers memories in such a way that they remember not only the movie but also people they watched it with and surroundings in which they were at the time. I would like to achieve that whether or not they are looking at portraits of the main characters from “One song a day takes the mischief away”, or depictions of bizarre events from “Amarcord”, or tense moments from “Vertigo” or complete alienation of an individual from reality with fantastic music from “The Wall”. The technique is oil on canvas, and I paint in a way that I build the surface of the canvas from irregular surfaces one to another, and not with the classic way of painting light and shadow. It is interesting to me that the diversity of observing pictures from close-up where scenes are lost in undefined forms, while looking at the pictures from a distance creates a clear scene and the color of an individual frame. I draw inspiration from works of the seventh art. My abstractions are inspired by nature, most of the time, its endless source of inspiration. I live close to the huge park forest so in every day walks with my child I find new inspirations there. These I paint in several techniques, mixed media on canvas, like acrylic with sand, sawdust and ink. Abstractions are modern, colorful and using colors and textures to communicate a feeling.
