I always loved this Arnold Meshes gallery postcard I received during my time at college from the campus gallery, the year 1999. The Ringling School of Art and Design had a retrospective show commemorating the artist, Arnold Meshes. His work had a great affect on me and I hung his postcard, which appears in the upper-left of the painting, on my fridge or on my drawing table, for over the past 18 years. Today, it found itself into a still life of cantaloupes, for the very first time. I painted this in my Tucson studio. I set up this still life on the front counter of my grand studio easel – such fun.
