About The Artwork
I created this work in 1980. It's oil on stretched canvas and set in a wooden floater frame. At a young age in the 1960s I was taken by the abstract expressionist movement of the 40s/50s in New York. The artist and teacher Hans Hoffman's work spoke to me and I've always had a deep appreciation of his work. This painting was inspired by Hoffman, hence its title "Homage to Hoffman." It has been one of my favorite abstract expression works that I have created over the past 50 years.

I have been creating artwork and photographs for over 50 years. My painting was influenced at a very early age by the abstract expressionist movement of the early-mid twentieth century. Photographically my inspiration came from the likes of Minor White, Edward Weston, Garry Winograd and Jerry Uelsmann. I've lived in numerous locations in the USA and overseas but now make my home in St Augustine, Florida. I paint in oil and acrylics on canvas, favoring large panels. For my photographic works I use both traditional analog and digital equipment.
