About The Artwork

Portrait of the famous painter Van Gogh. I have always particularly liked this painter. When I was a child, a reproduction of one of his paintings sat above my piano. I watched it while playing, and immersed myself in it with pleasure. His painting spoke to me, without really knowing why. I created several portraits of the artist which allowed me to highlight the artist's life of suffering and misery. It was after his death that he became the famous artist we know. This story touches me a lot and often leads me to promote the purchase of artworks created by living artists. In my opinion, this is of capital importance to continue to keep art alive through current artists and future generations. From a series of small formats, the artwork in 20x20cm format, is framed in a white frame, to stand or hang on the wall. Hand signed painting.

Nathalie Cubéro is a French painter, living and working in Aix-en-Provence, France. Her work is based on several techniques inspired by urban art such as graffiti or stencil, but also academic techniques, like leaf gilding, in a special care to marry the opposites. Nathalie Cubéro is interested in the human being in all that is most secret and intimate, and depicts her characters in ambiguous situations, at the crossroads. Her protagonists find themselves face to face with the outside world, but especially with themselves, in an almost sudden detachment of the visible reality towards the non palpable. Something is happening, but the viewer must find the answers in his own emotions. Made of personal or fictitious stories, her paintings illustrate an insidious threat, an unrequited happiness, a silent gesture, as many situations turned towards the intimacy of each individual, thus titillating the imagination of the spectator.
