Honeymoon Painting

She has been working in the same workshop with her husband, the artist Fatih Sungurtekin, since 1998. In 2006, they fell in love with each other and decided to get married. They got married in August 2008. Immediately afterwards, artist Fatih Sungurtekin went abroad for an international work. Göknil Gümüş Sungurtekin had to go on honeymoon with her mother. This was their last holiday. Her mother passed away on September 27, 2008, 2 days after returning from this honeymoon trip. Although the artist forced herself to paint this painting as a beautiful memory of those days, she painted this work with the emotional burden of being the last holiday she spent with her mother. On her honeymoon, which her mother could not go with her husband, the artist consoles her mother with the following words. "So you are my great love, I came on my honeymoon with you." In my vibrant oil painting, I infused the canvas with the dynamic interplay of color and form, capturing the vivacity of the scene. The blend of comic style with expressive brushstrokes reflects the subject's joyful spirit, mirroring a blend of reality and exuberance. This painting is a celebration of emotion, a snapshot that exudes the warmth of life and the energy of the moment, perfect to brighten any space with its lively essence.
