About The Artwork

Horror vacui is a term used in art and design to describe a fear or aversion towards empty or blank spaces. It originates from Latin and literally translates to "fear of emptiness" or "fear of the void." This concept can be observed in various forms of artistic expression, including painting, architecture, and interior design. In visual arts, horror vacui refers to the tendency of artists to fill every available inch of the canvas or surface with intricate details, patterns, or designs. This fear of leaving empty spaces often leads to a crowded, complex composition with little or no negative space. Artists throughout history have demonstrated horror vacui in different ways, such as the densely-packed Byzantine mosaics, elaborate medieval tapestries, or the intricate decorations in Rococo style. Horror vacui can also be seen in interior design styles where spaces are filled with various objects, furniture, and decorations without leaving any blank areas. This approach aims to create a visually rich environment by avoiding empty or unadorned spaces. Overall, horror vacui is a concept that reflects the human tendency to fill empty spaces with intricate details or elements. It has been prevalent throughout history in various artistic styles, but contemporary art movements have challenged this approach by embracing simplicity and minimalism. Based on this facts i thought an imagine that is in contrast with all my previous production. The skull stay for representing the fear about empty spaces.
