Born Aalborg, Denmark 1971 www.annettegerlif.dk My art is about creating order in a chaotic outer world I love creating order in a chaotic outer world. I am endowed with a tireless digital brain that constantly organizes and categorizes, sees patterns and contexts. A mathematical brain that loves order - minimalism - to do something simple and clear. In principle, my art is always characterized by the obvious interest in the physical worlds different rooms and architectural formations. The observations can be traced directly to the image surface, where they are simplified, arranged and rendered flat to appear as abstractions and patterns in dialogue with lines and tactile fracture that create counterbalances, openings and displacements in the image space. My human empty images with their references to the physical world are a kind of landscape or spaces, which the viewer can enter - a kind of bridge into the imaginary, which can fertilize the visitor's imagination and desire to play with and explore. I dissect the outer world and translate it into abstraction, creating new worlds for myself and the viewer to inhabit mentally and emotionally.
