Working as an artist using textiles as a backdrop to create works relating to women's issues in the 21st century. The pieces deal with domesticity, work/life balance, gender stereotyping and the body. I use hand drawn, silkscreen printed images and meticulous hand stitch to convey messages on any given concept. I carry out detailed research using the media, published papers, books - both fiction and non-fiction, and surveys, as well as sending out my own questionnaires to gain an informed knowledge on which to base my art. I also incorporate 'trademark' hand stitched labels with 'bon mots' which add a touch of humour to serious concerns.
