Hugging the Edge of Hope has a lot of contrasts and seemingly contradictory elements in it, but works! Everyone who's seen it live immediately likes it, even me, despite repeated efforts to find things to tinker with 😊 The canvas itself, once it was covered with thick mixtures of Goldens light molding paste (some of it left in tight clumps) & Titanium White acrylic, simply sat for several months as I pondered how I most wanted to use it. Combining the bumpy and smooth aspects of both my canvas with both my thoughts and feelings resulted in Hugging the Edge of Hope. I hope to return soon, after some medium-major surgery, presenting both older work since I began my art in earnest in the early 80s, and today, working my way through age 73. Like creating a work of art at all, recovery could be a few days or a few weeks or more. Here's hoping for a quick return ❤️🙏 02.15.24 - I'm very gratefully recovering nicely and should soon at least resume new uploads to my site here at Saatchi Art, probably with soon details shots of Hugging the Edge of Hope 2024, which I feel make nice prints of their own. I've some very good doctors, and frankly without the medical advances each decade and year, I probably wouldn't have the pleasure of enjoying this time in my life 🙏😊

032624 update - My wife and I are blessed to have found a new address here in Austin that'll keep us close to our youngest grandchild as the start of middle school begins later this year in August. The next month will be a full time of sorting and relocating, so in the interim, I'll concentrate on uploading new selections of recent paintings plus some photos from our visit to Vermont late last year 🙏 Below is my original profile info; thanks so much for visiting! 🙏❤️ About me Now 73 years ago, and first remembering painting in 2nd grade at Memorial Elementary in Houston, it's time for me to organize my work, and maybe reveal to myself what it is I've been so content to have worked at creating all these decades. Thus my goal here at Saatchi Arts is as much to reveal myself to myself, as to hopefully, coherently, introduce myself to you ☺️
