About The Artwork

This work was inspired by something we call “Race Equality or Local Pride”. In Indonesia, we do have so many races and cultural backgrounds including Javanese. As globalization makes nations borderless, many of the western influences make Indonesians perceive western people as powerful, innovative, and successful people. Meanwhile, they perceive their local people (Javanese is one of those) are left behind since many of those are only a local farmer and laborer. Therefore, through this work, I want to emphasize race equality that we have the same opportunity to be as powerful, successful, and impactful as those who are western people. If the western people have their “Hulk”, we as an Indonesian have our own “Javanese Hulk or Hulk Jowo” to represent our dignity. This work was done with acrylic on canvas since it does not take too long to dry it up. With a touch of Picasso's cubism, I added up my own art style into it. It has a smooth physical texture and is equipped with a high-quality frame as well as hanging hardware.

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

I was born in Indonesia on June 20th, 1966, as the youngest son among four children of my parents. I was raised in a small town called Mojokerto, and till now I still dwell in the same town with my own family. My works are influenced by Pablo Picasso and my draw inspirations come from my background as a Chinese Indonesian. I incorporate an Indonesian traditional art element called batik and Chinese element into my works, forming my own style of art. The technique I use is just basic techniques for cubism, but I also added a traditional batik element to fill the empty spaces. Mostly, I love doing acrylic on canvas because it does not need a long time to dry up.
