About The Artwork
Inspired by my first Rufous sighting in the garden. He was singing his little heart out, just as the sun breached the climbing clematis. This image is full of the joy and hopefulness that a flowering gardening brings, with birds, butterflies, and bees darting to sip at nectar. Painted in the primary triad to keep the feeling of simplicity in the heart of the painting. I am deeply inspired by Georgia O'Keefe's watercolors, and also Arthur Dove's.
