Category 5 Hurricane Katrina caused flooding that left tens of thousands of New Orleans citizens without food, shelter or basic necessities. The powerful storm caused 1800 deaths and 125 billion dollars worth of property damage, making it one of the costliest cyclones on record. In this series, instead of conventional brushes, I use my fingers which allow me to feel the texture of the paint and surface tension in order to produce a sense of motion through swirling patterns on the canvas. The visual appeal of radar imagery illustrates the beauty in destruction.
