About The Artwork
As a member of the Newlyn society of Artists and the annual show had a one word title 'Borders' this work was made from a reference photograph taken from an illustrated book on the the Maasi Mara, Kenya and it's wildlife. The book gutter was part of the image and it fitted well with the borders theme. All my work is about the differences and similarities between animals and humans, how we observe and wonder at animals and their behaviour. We often assume that violent behaviour is only and animal trait, but of course both animals and humans are capable of almost anything. Made over a couple of days using a found wooden support of marine ply from the harbour here in Penzance.

Tim makes work about the division, opposition and collusion between animals and humans. Drawing, performance, assemblage, film, collage, oil painting and the re-use of materials and objects is central to his work. Tim won the Ovalhouse prize at Chelsea College of Art, and Gloucester University prize at the Open West in 2015. He is a member of the committee of the Newlyn Society of Artists. Has exhibited in Berlin and Baku Zdonov in the Czech Republic and is represented by Daisy Laing, Penzance, Avalon in Marazion and Jupiter Newlyn.
