Lil peep is one of the artist that I use as an inspiration source. Their lyrics express a similar emotion that I wanna show on my paintings. This collection is based on contemporary music artist. It could be never finish without a portrait of him. I really like the relation on this pic between the face and the hands. The original one was based on red tones, but I tend to flow into the blue so I change some tones and details as you can see. I incorporate the aesthetics that are becoming more a more common on my portraits using elements as tattoos, piercings and lyrics. On previous collection I was using three or four layers of light as in some portrait previous collections. But after this one I started to use from 6 till 8 levels of light, which gives you a more realistic appearance rising up the value of the mimesis. And also it was the first one after a long process, where I convince myself that the colour that fits for the shadows on my paintings is “Quinacridone Violet”. It was the perfect combination, or at least that was what I thought, to mix with my skin tones to make them darker. That gives me a better situation to construct the painting (mimesis). I wasn’t still happy on that point when I was painting this collection. But my painting process it hasn’t the main goal to just mimic some subject or matter. Even if the mimesis is solve, I still feel so far from deconstructing the image. After minesis is time to deconstruct the image (style). That’s the key I think nowadays to arrive to the chaotic appearance to be able to make the viewer feel the emotions that I want to express with my artworks. I am still not happy with the final result of my artworks on “deconstructing aspects”. (it shouldn’t be a problem to be far where you wanna go, but it would be much worse to not be able to know where you wanna go)
