Honestly, when I read this quote on Pinterest for the very first time, I gently rolled up my eyeballs, but I could not help myself to rehearse using this quote in my head, because actually it's pretty funny! I was wondering what it would look like to base a painting on this quote in my style. In the beginning, I only drew a man who put his arm against the door frame, looking out into the distance. However, I think it was rather more romantic than it should be. So I painted it over again and in the meantime, I kept asking myself, who would be that kind of person I would be impressed by if he or she just stood outside the door — he must be very good at something, right? Oh of course: it must be some sort of hipster, going everywhere on their skateboard and they know all kinds of difficult tricks. Immediately, I drew a guy who did a handstand on a skateboard, next to a rocker cactus. Isn't that pretty outstanding?
