I beg your Pardon, I never Promised you a Rose Garden Painting

A pop song came to my mind while I was painting random scenes from my garden. I had recently broken up with someone who I thought was the love of my life. It seemed that thoughts of him would not leave me, I was struggling to find peace. Yet, I feel that most relationships are not meant to be forever and I could laugh at myself, rather than taking everything so seriously. It was my way of getting over the heartbreak. In the photo, there is a blurred male figure done with pencil. There are also elements of newspaper collage. The man is static, perhaps in front of a computer, while the woman is more active and working in the garden. She is realizing that this relationship will not flourish, so she keeps taking care of her roses.
